My #3 son gets married on Saturday. We went to dinner last night with his new in-laws. Nice people. It was a good evening word.

Yeah, for sure a lot of dough to put out for green grass. The last few years ours has gone black, like it was burned by fire. Very odd for PNW. We’ve had 1 inch of rain so far and we are supposed to get another inch today and tomorrow. Gonna be wet and cold here. Next week temps go up again. Looking forward to the weekend word.

Yes, there is that. Now the rain is forecast for the next 3 days. Seems like it is coming back a bit earlier than usual. But to be honest, we need the water. Our lawn is brown. We have 3 dogs buried here. Those were pretty emotional things to do quite honestly. My daughter in law who is a vet tech suggested I help the process along. I probably should but can’t do that. Well, the rain has started. We had a very rare electrical storm Saturday night. Apparently 1150 lightning strikes, very unusual. It was fairly mild in view of the storms we saw in MN when we lived there from 94-01. Those were some crazy storms. Anyway, we received 0.95 inches in our area. A lot of water came down. Highway robbery I say!! It’s been fun to watch the Olympics. But starting to tire of it. Saw a little wrestling last night, and then beach volleyball. Will watch a little wrestling tonight as well. We have been mostly dry except for one day last week. Today it is cooler but it will get warmer again word.

Tri was a water disaster I hear. Seine horrible place to swim. They should have held this part of the olympics in Nice. Lots of open water there. I agree. They should have used the olympic pool or practice pool. Or move it to the ocean. These Olympics are crazy. Each event starts with a guy pounding a stick on the floor. We had about 0.5 inches of rain this week. But our lawn has not changed. We need more rain. I complain about rain during the fall, winter, and spring. But we need some in the summer word.

I’ve installed a few fans. When I had an attic, it was easier to run wires and secure the fan. This electrician cut a hole in the sheet rock to figure out how to run wires and did mud it up, but I get to sand and paint. Yes, the remote is nice. And, the fan is perfectly balanced at all speeds. No need to balance. Because I am now half blind, it was a tough installation. That and my head lamp ran out of battery so that was of no help. I had to have my wife shine a flashlight so I could line up the screws to the holes to mount the fan blades. It was…[Read more]

Well, temps are cooling down here. It has been pretty uncomfortable here without AC. Not horrific, but not comfy. It’s a little warm. I finally fixed the ceiling fan. We are going to install more ceiling fans in the family room and in a bedroom. The electrician is coming tomorrow to get that all wired up. I’ll be installing the fans.…[Read more]
