There was some great wrestling last night. Arujau put on quite a show.

It snowed from 6 AM to 8 PM and not a trace on the ground. My rain gauge registered .67″ of water which is about 7″ of snow, but nothing to show for it. At times it was a white out, but everything melted as it hit the ground. Odd weather for sure but I’ll take it as long as I don’t have to break out the shovel.

Supposed to snow all day but 0 accumulation since its 38 F.

Removed 5 feet of old cast iron soil pipe from the bath. Good thing too, was cracked end to end on the bottom side. I couldn’t fit a snap cutter underneath because it was so close to sheet rock underneath. Ended up drilling out the solder and oakum from 3 joints in order to separate the pipe. No. 3 grandson’s birthday party yesterday. Mayhem with 9 kiddies and 3 dogs running loose. No. 10 isn’t walking yet.

NJ is a 90% red state except for 5 urban areas, Trenton, Jersey, Newark, Camden, and New Brunswick. The majority of the population lives in those 5 areas. More sunshine on the way, less than 48 hours to go.

Gutted bath no.3 subfloor is shot due to old water leakage and will add a couple of days work before building back. Not too bad since I needed remove some to replumb the shower drainpipe to accommodate a different layout.

Had our first snow fall, a whole 1/4″. Those guessers predicted rain. Wrong again.

The school where the boys wrestled sent 3 this year. It’s the first time a wrestler went since the 90’s. The team won the district title this year upsetting South Plainfield which had won 37 straight district titles. Been having trouble entering the site. Finally got in.

Monday’s snow passed by us, nary a flake. It’ll be poking around 60F today. Cloudy, but still 60. I’ll take it.

Yeah the south is pretty poor at handling snow. I was in NC during an inch of snow. They had farm tractors out plowing the roads. Apparently the cities and towns don’t purchase plows and just contract with farmers to take care of the roads. And, they don’t stockpile road salt so the roads stay icy until the sun comes out.

My worst business trip was coming home from Wichita on a Thursday. Flight was delayed for a mechanical light. By the time the repair was made a snowstorm moved in….flight cancelled. Rescheduled for 6 AM connecting flight through Chicago. Left on time, arrived in Chicago to find out my connection was delayed for 3 hours for lack of a crew.…[Read more]

Guessers said sunny, no rain. It rained half the day.

Sunny but cool for the next 2 days. Not going anywhere.
