Have you tried storing them in distilled vinegar? My uncle used to preserve them that way. The vinegar also kills/prevents mold from developing. I never ate then since I was too young at the time. I’m told the peppers don’t absorb the vinegar. You need to slit the pepper to let the vinegar seep inside.

We had 2 pepper plants this year and lucked out with 4 small peppers. I used to grow jalapenos just for stuffed jalapeno poppers on the grill. I think I’ll try them again next year.

I only grow tomatoes and peppers, and have a plastic mesh held up with pvc pipe posts. The weather guessers are driving me bonkers. They 70% chance of rain, no rain. I’m trying to reshingle the siding on a couple of dormers and can’t plan on going on the roof if they are predicting rain. A slippery and B I’m exposing the wall sheathing.

Tennessee heat and humidity have to be better than the same in Alabama and far less often. I spent a week near Mobile twice, 95+ heat, 80%+ humidity. Both times were in the summer, and it was brutal. As soon as you stepped outside the sweat bloomed. We get the heat and humidity, but nothing like Alabama. Tennessee is far more moderate.

That’s one big difference between Washington and Tennessee, the weather. It’s not the dramatic change of Minnesota. but hotter summers, colder winters and a lot more snow.

July was one our wettest ones. August is holding true, no rain. A few thunderstorms passed us by, splitting and veering north and south of us. Just starting to loss the lawn again. No mountains to see, just treetops, clouds and starts.

About the only businesses willing to remain in NYC are the financial markets and I think they are more interested in the long term. The mayor of NYC is off the wall, and many think he won’t get a 2nd term, but that 3.5 years out. We’re watching No.2’s 3 boys this weekend while the parents are way at a wedding. 4, 6 and 8. I’ll probably take them over to the inlet for some fishing. The pipe liner is a really slick idea. It avoids tearing up everything above the pipe no matter what it is, and that is far more time consuming. Fingers crossed for you that concrete pipe remains in good enough condition.

That’s a simple enough inspection these days using the snake cameras. I’ve got cast iron sanitary pipe in the basement. It has 4′ sections of iron packed with lead at the joints. 2 weeks = true R & R

Someone opened the oven door. 90 yesterday, 95 today, 100 tomorrow and possible 105 on Saturday.

Just got back from 4 days at Cape Cod on the Massachusetts coast. All 19 of us. After 4 days, beat, we had to drive 7 hours through weekend traffic to get home. Slept 10 hours and I’m still beat today. It was a great place for kids on the beach. Plenty of room for baseball and good fishing from the beach and the canal in the back of the hotel.

My mom had some heart issues that led to the stroke. Fortunately, she died in her sleep at an assisted care facility, she had a great life though, 89.
