My daughter dragged her clan down for news year’s eve. Great. Had to stay up for the kids to see the fireworks. It has rained here in abundance. I got a new jack for my riding mower. It weighs a ton but I’m excited to get to use it. My MIL is now visiting for a week and that should be fun also word.

Wrong, 2″ of snow. 16 F with a high of 25. Declined a late invite from my son to the Penn State v SMU game, just too freakin’ cold and old to leave 6 AM and drive 4.5 hours up and back to spend 4 hours in a 25F wind blown stadium. Cold and rainy here but 11F higher than the average for this day. Still feels cold at 54. Got almost an inch of water over the last 24 hours. It is supposed to get warmer and the snow level will go up to 8000 ft. That’s really high. Our ski areas are at 3000 and 4000 ft levels. So hopefully the snow level gets down lower.…[Read more]

Hit 62 today. A storm glided up from the south and brought some warm air with the rain. Back to mid 30’s tomorrow but it sure felt nice.

Nj hasn’t been anywhere near as bad as NYC. At least NJ revised the juvie code but its still not as tough as it was 6 years ago. The mayor of NYC indicates he has done a 180 on crime and illegal immigrants. He no longer sanctuary city as a title and has been paying for flights to get them out. I agree. WE are facing the same thing here in WA and specifically in King County. There is no penalty for juvie offenses. They have a diversion program. It just rolled passed us out on the Atlantic and ran into Long Island, Rhode Island, Mass and Maine. Got a nice drizzle though if only 1″ of water. GKs are back on the mats this weekend.

The people here in WA gave enough signatures to repeal the State law that prohibits police chases. During the time police couldn’t chase, auto theft rose exponentially. Ducked another snow squall that hit the kids up north. Yesterday was the coldest day since January 21, 2023. 50’s will be back tomorrow.

Longer days will be good. I agree. But that has to wait until Santa comes to town word.

Ready for the longer days. Haven’t needed the gas powered snow blower yet but can’t wait to use the gas lawn mower. Haven’t converted to the electric word.
