We have a annual burn ban from Jun 15 or so to sep 30 or so. We have done 3 burns so far this month. We collect a lot word.

My son has 2 60′ firs in his front yard. You can’t see his driveway and garage roof because the needle drop is so thick. He normally rakes them up and lights them up in his firepit, but we’re so dry out here the state put up a ban on all outdoor fires.

Brrrrrr 36F this AM but low humidity so no frost. The annuals and veggies survived the night. Near 80 Wed, Thurs and Fri so we may well get another 10 days for out of the garden.

Crazy story. After we bought this place I had the incoming service upgraded to 220, larger circuit breaker box eliminating a subpanel and adding slots and had old aluminum wiring replaced. I changed out the water pump and that didn’t work. Then I heard weird noises. It turns out the old pump was still working. The fan will not turn when the system tries to get it going. Trying to get back in the habit word.

My garden is only 8 x 4 so I skipped the jalapenos this year. My wife only eats grilled jalapeno poppers stuffed with assorted cheeses. I scrape out the seeds to make them edible for her. When I grow them, they go from plant to grill in a couple minutes.

I remember when I moved to MN in the Twin Cities, my neighbor warned me about winter and told me how to prepare. In the midst of a 5 day Indian Summer, mid 70’s since Saturday and low 80s on Monday.

I’m surprised anything grows in the garden. I fenced off the vegetable garden. We’ve tried every deer resistant plant out there and they still eat the flower buds.

Well, that’s impossible here in the woods. Our garden was invaded by a bear the other day. Deer, coyotes, racoons, opposums, and squirrels. Even a cougar drops by every once in a while. Can’t see the horizon due to trees and overcast skies word.

The comet is quite low in the sky. We get only about 15 minutes to view it before is sets behind the tree lined horizon. It’s due west on the compass if you can get to a point to see the horizon. It is visible soon after sundown and initially appears as the only star in the western sky. We never got to see Halley’s because of storms and clouds.
