Goooooooooooooooood morning RYou and everybody!!!!!!!!!
Iowa is also red with the exception of the larger population centers. No defunding here. One son in Springfield, IL had his cat converter stolen. Pain in the neck. One in Kansas City said that 50% of their emergency calls are to administer Narcan to bring people back so they can overdose again. Where we live is a super small town. Mostly sheltered from the problems experienced elsewhere. Or at least it seems that way on the surface. My brother is in his second year as the high school principal here. He said that he has seen things in the last couple years that he would not have thought possible in a small school.
This is the world we live in.
Have a great day word!March 12, 2023 at 8:40 am #1226RYouParticipantNo. 3 grandson’s birthday party yesterday. Mayhem with 9 kiddies and 3 dogs running loose. No. 10 isn’t walking yet.
A bunch are in the basement having a nerf gun battle. 3 year old Killian, “Aw, he shot me in the nuts”. ???? Where did he pickup that one? The wives, jaws dropped. The guys, …just busted out laughing until the stares got focused on us.

Haha! Right in the nuts!
Have an excellent day word!March 13, 2023 at 7:53 am #1228RYouParticipantRemoved 5 feet of old cast iron soil pipe from the bath. Good thing too, was cracked end to end on the bottom side. I couldn’t fit a snap cutter underneath because it was so close to sheet rock underneath. Ended up drilling out the solder and oakum from 3 joints in order to separate the pipe. I was afraid to do separate at the vertical vent for fear the weight would drop right through the sheet rock ceiling below. It took about 1 1/2 hours for each joint, drill-scrape, drill-scrape, but it’s out in 3 sections. Installing the PVC adapter into the compression donut and cast iron is another story.
March 13, 2023 at 12:29 pm #1229mspartParticipantCelebrated son #4s Bday yesterday. Had a great time, food was good. Everyone was there except our son that is in DC. Working with metal pipes in bathrooms does not sound like much of a good time for a retiree. RYou, maybe you should get out of house rebuilding for yourself and un-retire and start a new business ha word!!

March 13, 2023 at 1:36 pm #1230mspartParticipant(The Center Square) – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is publicizing another example of someone who police were not allowed to chase because of Washington’s restrictive pursuit law allegedly doing damage and putting people at risk. This time, the suspect was ultimately apprehended.
“Suspect Who Fled from Deputies on Multiple Occasions, Hit a Pedestrian in a Parking Lot and Committed Several Additional Crimes, Finally Captured,” was the title of the news release that the sheriff’s office sent out.
It tells the story of a man who allegedly used a stolen vehicle to flee from authorities at least four times in a week finally being apprehended by Spokane County Sheriff’s forces working with Spokane Valley Police.
You can go to the website for the rest of the story.

Cold. Supposed to warm up for a couple days then cold again. At least no sewer pipes to deal with here.

March 15, 2023 at 6:14 am #1236RYouParticipantIt snowed from 6 AM to 8 PM and not a trace on the ground. My rain gauge registered .67″ of water which is about 7″ of snow, but nothing to show for it. At times it was a white out, but everything melted as it hit the ground. Odd weather for sure but I’ll take it as long as I don’t have to break out the shovel.

Consequences. Crazy concept.
Have a wonderful day word!March 15, 2023 at 12:29 pm #1240mspartParticipantMy wife’s cousin in NH got 13 inches and a tree fell across her driveway. Some good samaritan helped her get her generator started. They will get the tree cleared later I guess. Anyway, she trudged out to the road and got a ride from a friend to another friends house who was working from home. She borrowed their car and made it to work.
Dedication word!!
