Air has been dry. Open a window and the spackle dries pretty quickly. Onto priming. May get to 70F if we are lucky. Looks like we’ve moved into the 40s / 60s month.
October 10, 2023 at 1:51 pm #1668mspartParticipantRaining here. Supposed to get about an inch in the next 24 hours. Will rain for a few days and then stop for a few days and then it constant from then on as we move into the wet wintery season word.

October 13, 2023 at 6:58 am #1675RYouParticipantBaseball and soccer tonight before the rain. Wifey goes to one, I the other. 45 minutes in we switch. Games end under the lights. Grandson has been pitching. He’s the only one that consistently hits the catcher. Catcher doesn’t catch, just takes balls in the chest, knees and head, then chases them down as they roll away.
October 13, 2023 at 11:27 am #1676mspartParticipantThat is hilarious!! Hopefully the catcher catches on before he goes pro word.

Got about .6 rain. Cloudy, no eclipse. Well, there supposedly was an eclipse, not visible here.

October 16, 2023 at 2:59 pm #1684mspartParticipantI have a sump pump for the kitchen area. This was done because the old tile piping broke and caused a flood. Rather than dig out a new route to pipe it to the septic line, the guy put in a sump with a pump. The pump runs off of my outdoor electrical outlet under the deck. The deck is why he didn’t want to dig. So that’s what I have.
A few years ago, I had another flood and it it turned out there was big chunks of soapy oil. It blocked the float from rising and as a result the thing flooded. I got that fixed and found some stuff that was supposed to prevent the soap and oil mixing to form a white-ish hard substance. Well, late last week, my outdoor GFCI outlet kept tripping. I took it out and the main power wire fell out. I stuck it back in and tightened it down and no more tripping. But I was suspicious of the pump causing a problem. There was a little water but not much pooling. I turned on the sink and that little puddle started to rise and I could see water movement. Shoot!
So yesterday I spent quite awhile clearing that out. Got that done. I’m not sure how I got the pump to initially empty the sump but I was lucky that it did. I was also lucky I looked too because I would have a huge problem this week or next in the rain no doubt.
Now that’s a long story, but I need to ask some advice. What I want to do is find a way to lift the float (in case it is blocked and cannot float) so that I can clear the sump without having to dive in. I need something that won’t break or deteriorate. I was thinking clear rubber tubing that I could feed through and lift but not sure if that is good enough. I need to see how it is wired and maybe I can figure out how to bypass the two circuits. But I would rather not even get in there to do that, just want to pull on this jerry rigged thing and have the sump empty and then I can go below the deck and work on it. Youtube does not show anything about this taht I can find. Any ideas? I could sure use the help word.

Maybe #6 copper wire to hook the float to pull it up. Should be pliable and strong enough and not deteriorate.
Good luck and have a terrific day word! -
