Thanks AC. I have been thinking of Tigon tubing, but wire might do well. #6 gage? That’s pretty thick stuff.

I asked a co-worker about this whole thing and we found an outfit that can do trenchless septic lines. They are coming over on Friday to see if this is something they can do and if so, how much it will cost.

Oily down the drain creates nightmares. We had cast iron drainpipes in or first house. 2 months after moving in the kitchen drain backed up. I removed the trap but it was clean so I knew it weas further down the line. The plumber came to snake and doing so he blew out a section lateral pipe. Looking inside it was paper then from corrosion. Further in we saw the problem, the 2inch pipe was clogged leaving a 1/2″ hole to allow flow. He recommended replace the 15 ft length of lateral. He did that with PVC. He had to splice in a PVC tee. After cracking the 6 in vertical he noticed the vertical was about to split open. He ended up replace 10′ of 6″ with PVC too.

Fron that day on we place all cooking oil in empty jars and trash them. We also use Dawn detergent. It annihilates any residual oil that may be on a pan or plate.

The septic guys must be using a water jet to carve a path for flexible pipe.

Well, trenchless will be very expensive I think. I’ll find out on Friday. But to dig it out myself is pretty much a non starter. I either need to remove sections of deck or do it under the deck where there is about 1ft vertical space. So I would be on my gut trying to dig down a couple of feet. Trenchless is the way to go from a logistical standpoint word.

Removing deck sections or attempting to dig underneath doesn’t sound fun at all. You could just move to Iowa. Problem solved.

AC – That thought had never crossed my mind. Yes I could do that. We lived in MN for 7 years and don’t think we can take those kind of mild winters anymore.

Had the grandkids over the weekend. Overall a good visit. My youngest son’s B-day is today, we are going bouldering for that. I think I’ll hang on the ground, my shoulder and arthritic finger will rebel if I do that word.
