No. 2 son and family calls yesterday and says they are coming down. Their AC crapped out and it’s to be 90+ today. Back to entertaining. No.1 son and fam are at the Outerbanks, NC. Daughter and hers are in Cape Cod MA
August 30, 2024 at 11:50 am #2562mspartParticipantOur #3 son is getting married tomorrow. Big wedding party tonight at our place. I took the last 2 days off to get the place spruced up word.

August 31, 2024 at 8:57 am #2563RYouParticipantSon and family are staying through Saturday. A bit of a hiccup replacing the AC which was above the 2nd floor ceiling. The contractor couldn’t install the new one since the access hole was too small. They had to hire a carpenter to cut and reinforce the joists above. That took two extra days. Apparently, the AC was installed when the house was built before the ceiling was constructed. They did son with no prep for when it needed to be replaced. Architect was a dumbass. HVAC contractor didn’t advise of a future issue.
September 3, 2024 at 7:13 am #2564RYouParticipantI presume all went well with the wedding. Having a long weekend had to help.
Son left Sunday. Just as we get everything back in order, daughter calls and comes down Sunday for the night with the fam.
September 4, 2024 at 12:43 pm #2565mspartParticipantYes, the wedding went well. It was great in fact. They are now in wedded bliss. After that we took our youngest son to Pullman where he will be going to school. He is doing a Community college on the WSU campus. He really wanted us to leave, embarrassing parents and all you know. I get that. We came back home yesterday. Now we have to get back to normal and we will see what happens with that word.

September 4, 2024 at 1:19 pm #2567RYouParticipantAh, the first day back. I remember it well. The boys didn’t care, they wanted to go to a specific restaurant, then they kicked us to the curb. My daughter kicked us away as soon as her belongings were placed in her room. Her last 3 years were in a sorority house so the drop off weas even shorter. We couldn’t even get out of the car.
September 5, 2024 at 11:44 am #2568mspartParticipantHa ha, ain’t that the way. No way I treated my parents so brusquely. No way word.

September 6, 2024 at 9:12 am #2569RYouParticipantIt’s been a month now…1/2″ of rain. It’s probably been the driest summer on record here. 1 1/2″ for July and August.
September 6, 2024 at 11:14 am #2570mspartParticipantIt is supposed to be 91 here today. That is really hot for here. But then the temps fall for the next 10 days. Fall is coming word.

September 9, 2024 at 1:08 pm #2572mspartParticipantAgree. We are going to a ZZ Top/ Lynyrd Skynyrd concert at an amphitheater on 21st. Highs for 10 days from now are projected to be 60 and they are steadily dropping to that point. I hope we get a warm and dry day.
I have not seen ZZ Top and am looking forward to it. I say the LS tribute band in 87 with all the surviving members minus Allen Collins cause he was almost dead. I saw them in an outdoor concert at ParkWest ski area in Utah. Not far from Park City. I’ve seen them since. I saw Rossington Collins when they came to Seattle in 1980 or so. That was a good concert! Not so excited for them, they are truly a tribute band now word.

September 9, 2024 at 8:39 pm #2573RYouParticipantNeat, always liked ZZ Top. never saw them though. I can’t recall them coming around these parts.
Still hovering around 80 here, but 50s west and north of us. High 50s at night. WE baby sat for my daughter. WE left at 10:30 PM, it was 62 there. Arrived home an hour later and it 72 here.
September 10, 2024 at 12:25 pm #2574mspartParticipantI think ZZ Top would be better 20 years ago. But I have read a few reviews and they play at tempo and are still pretty good. LS just isn’t the same but they have everyone there that has been there for the last 10 years so they should be good.
Just concerned it will rain and be cold. Hopefully I’m under cover. They have that here because it rains so much word.

September 11, 2024 at 8:44 am #2576RYouParticipantIt’ll be interesting without Dusty Hill on bass. Beard or no beard ? I wonder if they’ll do a missing man tribute at some point. ZZ has its own sound and appearance; I can’t imagine them letting that change in any way.
September 11, 2024 at 1:28 pm #2577mspartParticipantI think in the past when they do Tush, they pipe in Dusty’s vocals cause Billy surely can’t do that word.
