Spent two days at my son’s horse boarding facility now dog boarding facility. He put in concrete floors in the barn to house the dog and put in in-ground heating and that is working ok but there is not much to block the heat from going up and out. His idea was to build some walls. So we built some walls and put on OSB on one side. He’ll get the other side insulated and that should keep the heat from going out the top of the roof. But there is still plenty of roof for the heat to escape, just not nearly as much now.
Why go from horses to dogs? 23 horses/month = 6 dogs/month. Place had no vacancy with 23 horses plus 3 of their own. Now it has roughly 10 dogs at any one time word. They’ve had up to 20 dogs at a time. So less work, less shoveling poop, less hauling hay but way more noise word.
