Gooooooooooood morning everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least your furnace is going so the flooding will be warmer.
Forecast for possible record highs up to 60 tomorrow.
Have a wonderful day word!December 6, 2023 at 2:22 pm #1958mspartParticipantAll of Western Washington is under flood watch. The Amtrak train from Seattle to Portland has been cancelled due to the effects of all the water. We have a creek going through our yard which is essentially mountain drainage. It was rolling hard last night and plugged the pipe and flooded my neighbor’s garage. Very bad word.

December 6, 2023 at 9:28 pm #1960RYouParticipantWeird, did it again. The system asked me to resign in which is not a big deal. I did and it reverted me to this alternate sign in which then sends me back to the menu of topics and asks me to sign in again. I did and it bumps me to this alternate sign in page again, which sends me back to the menu page. This time I opened Last Word but go back one page and write this note which passes through without signing in again.
Anyway, we’re not dealing with rain or a bum heater, and no 60F. A Oh well, back to the bathroom reno.
December 7, 2023 at 2:17 pm #1961mspartParticipantWell, the furnace is a high efficiency one that makes water. Unfortuantely, the exhaust is leaking water right by the furnace. Brand new installation and I watched the guy prime the pipe, but water is leaking out anyway. I did not actually see him cement the pipe. So they have to come out again to fix that up word.

December 8, 2023 at 12:21 pm #1973mspartParticipantI can’t wait for days to get longer. It’s getting dark here so early. Well, they came out and fixed the leaking exhaust pipe. This morning, I checked and it is leaking through the joints again. This is something that never happened before. I’m wondering how the water is getting through the PVC cement. I’ll have to call them again next week I think and do this again word.

December 8, 2023 at 9:55 pm #1974RYouParticipantSure sounds like bad PVC cement is failing. It could be the wrong cement, but that’s not likely with someone experienced in constructing with PVC. I’ll hazard a guess the pipe was contaminated by oil and wasn’t cleaned adequately. PVC cement creates a reaction that causes the pipe to liquefy slightly and expand sealing the joint. A bad seal allows the water to migrate through the joint. Keep an eye on how he intends to repair the failure. Adding more cement to the exterior of the joint isn’t going to help. If one joint is failing, there is a strong chance others will fail eventually, particularly if the cement was bad which can occur if the can was left open overnight.

Flex seal. They say that stuff can seal a screen door on the bottom of a boat.
Have a stupendous day word!December 11, 2023 at 7:18 am #1984RYouParticipant60 F but 3+” of rain. A northwestern blow now rolling in to chill us.
2 days of laying up shower tile and I’m only half way done.
December 11, 2023 at 10:20 am #1985ACGunsParticipantGooooooooooooood morning RYou and everybody!!!!!!!!!!!
Temps in the 40’s and up to 50 by the weekend. No precipitation. Looks like no white Christmas.
Use bigger tile on the rest so it goes faster.
Have an amazing day word!December 11, 2023 at 1:27 pm #1986mspartParticipantYeah, still leaking. Too many joints with suspect cement I’d guess. The leaking is slowing down so that is good word.

Cut it out and replace it.
Have a terrific day word!December 12, 2023 at 3:05 pm #1988mspartParticipantHumidity around here is low so not getting so much leakage. That said, a new procedure was created here at work and it is totally screwed up. I think the general idea of the change was good, but execution lacks a lot. Stuff that I am supposed to be working is assigned to another group. Normally that would be a good thing but in this case, not the case word.

December 13, 2023 at 11:13 am #1989RYouParticipantI always hated when they decided to make a change just because someone new took the reins. Rarely was there a real benefit, and more often than not just added more non-productive time. The really funny part, if you decided to ignore it, no one called you out on it. For example, if you imitated a potential new piece business, we were to create a management report and update the progress weekly or after each new contact. Well, I ignored it after the first one because you would a call from above asking for a status update. Well, wasn’t that the purpose of the weekly written update? So I do my weeklies and still get this blasted phone call. After the first one I ignored it and just submitted the new business report when the client committed. No one ever questioned why I wasn’t submitting the progress reports.
December 13, 2023 at 11:29 am #1990ACGunsParticipantGooooooooooooood morning RYou and everybody!!!!!!!!!!!
Our company made some changes. Or one guy in our company made some changes. My boss retired, they promoted a yes man and another manager gets his fingers in where they do not belong. So now we charge more man hours for an inferior product. That is nice when a client inquires about it. Don’t have a good answer, just refer them to corporate.
