mspartParticipantMy wife and kids have been complaining about a natural gas smell around the house. I had smelled that too from the furnace exhaust. So they complained enough that I finally called our heater guy to tell me why the furnace is not completely burning the gas. Because it is a high efficiency furnace it has an additional heat exchanger that makes water. He took an exhaust reading and the CO level is supposed to be 50, and it was 5800. So that heat exchanger was bad. So he actually turned the furnace off and we are very cold in the house now for liability. I know how he did that so I tried to turn it back on but the electrical switch he turned off no longer works or there is something wrong with it. So I have 2 other companies coming to give bids. Plenty cold inside. 52F this morning inside the house, 27F outside word.

mspartParticipantOh, I got the furnace running. The electrical switch that provides electrical control power to the gas furnace was broken and by broken I mean burned out and the terminals came off when I removed the switch. Probably dodged a bullet there. I replaced it and it is working fine. It is actually warm in the house now word.

mspartParticipantFurnace is in and working!! We had 2.1 inches of rain the last 24 hours and they are expecting this Pineapple Express to dump another 1.5 in the next 24 hours. That’s almost 10% of our annual rainfall. Rivers are at flood stage here and the snow that was in the mountains has melted and feeding the floods word.
