predicted rain all afternoon. Nothing. Predicting sunshine today….well maybe it will show up.

Those guessers predicted rain from 12 to 7 Pm. Never happened. Predicted clouds this AM and we got a sprinkling of rain. Not enough to test the chimney crown.

Now I need rain to be sure the new chimney crown solved my leak. Maybe I’ll pour buckets of water all over it. Not real interested in hauling buckets or a hose to the top of the roof.

Finished the cap around 12. Weather report changed to possible rain at night. Had to go back up and cover it with plastic.

Got up on the roof and temporarily patched the cracks in the chimney cap….just before 5″ of rain hit. The rafters around the chimney didn’t get wetter so I think that is the problem. Sun today so I’ll be back up there replacing the cement cap.

So I’m running vent pipe up in the ceiling near the chimney and what do I find….a leak. It’s been dry the past week and never would have discovered if not for the timing of running the vent pipe in the area. On the upside…… it was a discoverable leak.

Finally found a way to add a return HVAC duct to the 2nd floor, a 6″ gap next to the chimney and main drain vent pipe. I hadn’t noticed before as it there was flooring that extending over the hole on the 1st floor. I was able to cut the flooring away and voila, a shaft appeared. Laid the drainpipes in the bathroom reno and figured out I can’t connect the shower trap unless I open up the ceiling below. I suspected I’d have but was hoping to find a way to avoid it. 2 makeup games and 2 scheduled games tonight. Can’t do all 4, 2 at best, have to decide where to go.

We have 2″ so far. Wind from the west pushed a southern storm moving north on top of us.

Drove up to #4 GS 8 AM T Ball game canceled. “field is too wet” Huh ? That’s dew on the grass, it dries up.

5 days of blue sky and sunshine will give way to clouds, but no rain.

Hah, my wife used to hide chocolates all over the place. Not bags, the individual pieces. Now she’s overt, everything is in a jar. She has a very large sweet tooth. Everything from the Kisses to the mini bars I always have some kind of Swiss chocolate for her birthday.

I don’t know, maybe that cracked nose has something to do with the sense of smell.

When we were kids we would play football at a friend’s house with a big back yard. Everyone was decked out shoulder pads and helmets. Full blown tackle. We were 9 or 10. When the kids were babes, I would gag if not lose when changing diapers. Sense of smell is too strong, stomach is too weak. I never would have made it to the back end of your property. We kept a pail next to the diaper table.

Wind from the south is pushing all of that cold air and snow back up to Canada.

Wiring day in new bath.

I 5 year old grandson landed a 16″ trout. The 3 year old was overjoyed with his blue gill. All in all a fun day.
Back to highs in the 60’s and the renovation.
