We went all of last year with zero snow, never saw it. This year was Mother Nature’s payback, 47″ total. The weather guessers say we may not be done with it.

Looking forward to the weekend and getting that hour of daylight back. On top of that those weather guessers are super optimistic forecasting 4 days in the 60’s with a possibility of low 70’s on Wednesday. That’s some well needed warmth which should get rid of most of the plowed ice piles that continue to linger.

I checked their tour schedule and it just happens they will be doing the east coast over the next 2 months. No shows close by as the nearest is York PA about 2 hours away. I’ve been wanting to go back to Gettysburg which is near York.

It’s always good to meet with family. I checked out that band on YouTube. They have great melodies, but I think they need a drummer. The sound came across as one dimensional, but that me be the difference between hearing it live versus cheapo laptop speakers.

Just as the remainder of the 11 ” ice and snowfall we had last month melts away, BAM, we’re getting blasted with a 24″ blizzard. Crazy NJ weather, 50 F one day, 24″ of snow the next day.

Haven’t watched much of the Olympics but caught luge, skeleton and this new mogul+ jumping head to head racing. They keep adding goofy events for the winter games and cutting back in the summer events.

Woke up this AM and it was 27 F. It is now 4 PM and it’s 13 F and sunny. It still heading down about 1 F per hour. By the AM we should knocking on 4 F. The 25 mph wind is projected to continue for the next 24 hours. It’s cold outside. This stuff is for North Dakota, not NJ.

The folks in Punxsutawney, PA really snowballed everyone. Phil lives in a custom room that’s part Punxsutawney Library. It’s heated the feed him and even made space for his wife Phillis. There is a large viewing window, and the only sunshine Phil sees is when the sun peeks through the window.

She had the laser surgery which is not covered by Medicare. We found out they do cover a small portion of the surgery. We opted for the upgraded lens replacement which is not covered. Took wifey in for left eye cataract surgery. The right eye gets fixed in two weeks. Her sight really degraded over the past year. 11 pounder is big particularly for spear. The ling are deeper water fish out here so unless you are quailed for deep dives to wrecks you are only bringing them on a rod. Same for the bass, they are in close for surf casting but not spear. and they spook easily.

We got only 12″, but with it rain which left a 1/2″ of ice. The cars were ice blocks. I took 2.5 hours to thaw and clear them. The sidewalks had 3/8″ of ice. The kids up north got 16″but no rain/ice.
