It’s always good to meet with family. I checked out that band on YouTube. They have great melodies, but I think they need a drummer. The sound came across as one dimensional, but that me be the difference between hearing it live versus cheapo laptop speakers.

I think you are spot on. Live the sound is way different. The sound was great. The warm up band had a bass drum that the guitarist would pound on for a beat. But the Stringdusters don’t do that and it was not missed live. It was really just one of the best concerts I’ve been to. I highly recommend it and I really don’t listen to bluegrass ever. This was just an incredible group of musicians and they just killed it.

I checked their tour schedule and it just happens they will be doing the east coast over the next 2 months. No shows close by as the nearest is York PA about 2 hours away. I’ve been wanting to go back to Gettysburg which is near York.

Well, if you decided to travel to see them, I honestly don’t think you will be disappointed. They really surprised me. Live music is great, even bluegrass. The opening band was good even. But they were blown completely away by these pros.

Looking forward to the weekend and getting that hour of daylight back. On top of that those weather guessers are super optimistic forecasting 4 days in the 60’s with a possibility of low 70’s on Wednesday. That’s some well needed warmth which should get rid of most of the plowed ice piles that continue to linger.

We will be getting colder end of next week with 4-7 inches of snow in my neighborhood. We haven’t had snow yet so this will be the first for us. The ski areas are finally getting dumped on. Good news for them.

We went all of last year with zero snow, never saw it. This year was Mother Nature’s payback, 47″ total. The weather guessers say we may not be done with it.

Well, the forecast changed and no snow anymore. No freezing temps. My son runs a snow plow salt parking lot business (among other things) and he hasn’t had much work this year. They got me all excited with some snow. Alas….

Just hanging around waiting for B1Gs to roll around tomorrow. Penn State could have had 8 #1 seeds if not for a quicky change in the seeding formula by a conference committee. B1G opted out of using a coach’s vote in favor of a purely statistical formula (Moneyball comes to B1G wrestling). 2 No.1 nationally ranked PSU wrestlers with wins over the No.1 seed were seeded #2.

Yeah, that is crazy, PSU having so many #1 seeds. That is some team Cael has assembled every year for years. I don’t hate Cael, but I would like to see some other teams do really really well and those PSU wrestlers not be champions. That would be epic. I think Cael and his staff are the best there has ever been. Sure they get great recruits, but great recruits don’t usually make themselves champs, it is the coaching staff. They are just awesome I think.

Sanderson used the appeal process created with use of Wrestlestat’s seeding formula and recovered another #1 seed. 174 Levi Haynes, reigning natty champ and undefeated this year was pre-seeded at #2. He’s now #1 after the appeal. Whatever. PSU will blow through and win again, though 1 or 2 #1 seeds will lose. It always happens at B1Gs. Iowa is going to b embarrassed again.

Keep an eye on Oklahoma State. Taylor has been competitive with recruiting and could finish #2 at the NCAA.

I think you called the B1Gs. PSU was incredible and Iowa embarrassed. Very embarrassed. Maybe its time for more fun at Iowa. JAX sailed through big 12s easily as a kid just out of HS. He’s a generational talent and he’s just getting started.

7 bouts were #1 v #2 seeds. 2 – n#3’s made to the final and a #6. I’d the seeding formula was fairly accurate. I saw ony one other glitch beside the Haynes misfire. Little Ferrari ranked #2 nationally was seeded #7. Brands did not appeal. Turns out Ferrari draws #1 Rocco-Welch in the Q final, #1 v #2 in a Q final. Welsh wins in OT and then Ferrari wrestles a couple more and the forfeits the rest of his bouts to finish.

133 will be loaded at NCAA’s

Been there. We’re far luckier out here with our 3r
d day in the 70’s with sunshine. We’ll get one more tomorrow, then it’s back to highs in the 40’s for at least 7 days.
